The Korea Federation of Textile Industries (hereafter referred to as KOFOTI) Chairman Choi Byung-oh has announced a 'future-oriented innovation' vision to change the paradigm of K-textile fashion with the advent of 2026, and has officially embarked on global marketing endeavors.
On January 5th (Monday), Chairman Choi visited Diaoyutai in Beijing as part of President Lee Jae-myung's economic delegation to China, where he emphasized, "Wearable robots that integrate robot technology into fashion will be key to enhancing the activity and quality of life for the senior generation, and will be a high-value-added future food source for our industry." He also envisioned a convergence model of Korean textile fashion manufacturing and advanced industries by meeting with Chinese robot and battery companies.
At the '2026 Textile Fashion New Year Gathering' held on January 8th (Thursday) on the 3rd floor of the Textile Center, Chairman Choi stated, "Now is the time to establish an 'intelligent manufacturing system' where the entire stream from yarn to manufacturing and distribution is organically connected, centered around AI," and added, "Amidst the strong wave of digital transformation, we must draw a blueprint for the future of the textile fashion industry through expansion into AI, robotics, and data sectors."
A KOFOTI representative stated, "Chairman Choi Byung-oh's visit to China has served as an opportunity to inform the world that the Korean textile fashion industry is evolving into a future-oriented industry combined with advanced technology," adding, "Going forward, KOFOTI will continue to uphold the spirit of 'Jeokto Horse Management' to lead policy support and technological innovation, enabling our textile fashion companies to expand their global territories."
